Universe

Ever wonder why things are the way they are? Like why do things fall? To how did I think of the previous question? Well, this and ever question fall in my topic of my quest to understand the universe and its chemistry and physics. To uncover these things I have done three things to improve my knowledge of the concept. I have watched documentaries, listened to podcasts, and read books.

Over the course of 10 years, I have watched dozens of documentaries. Some have been on wars, music, planets, bees, light, plants, animals, and rocks, just to name a few. Watching hours of these videos have really helped me get a visual understanding of what's happening in our everyday lives. Documentaries to me are a must watch thing. If I want to learn something interesting or for school I go home and look up documentaries on the theme. Thus marking the importance of documentaries to me.

I work in the fields on my days off school be it weekends or vacations. Saying this might mean that I do have a lot of time to learn new things, but I must say the opposite of that. One thing that I would like to point out is that I have a lot of listening time during work since I am using my hands, but not my ears. Some may use the ability to listen to music. I on the other hand like to listen to podcasts by the BBC Radio In our time: science. This podcast talks about black holes to photosynthesis. What I really like about it is that they bring in actual physicist, chemists, neuroscientists, and people that work in that facility. The people in the radio station explain everything very well and easy to understand. Which is wonderful for me. I get to learn while I work.

I remember every week I would go to the public library and get up to 15 books of eyewitness( videos too)and books that I would find intriguing. That was me in elementary. Today I don't really like to read books as much, but once in a while, I do. The books I do read help me with my topic. For instance this month I have read the book by Steven Hawking titled, "A Brief History of Time". This book Hawking talks about time, black holes, supernovas, the bing bang, and the expanding universe. I have also read books dealing with emotional concepts like Shakespeare books and Donte Alighieri. Reading has always been a gateway to knowledge for me.

In conclusion, understanding the universe and everything in it will bumpy road. I will continue to practice watching documentaries, listening to podcasts, and reading profound books about our world and outside of it. One thing I would like to include to my soup of acquiring knowledge is getting to know someone with an extremely better understanding of what the universe is and all its insides. I hope one day I will be able to help our civilization get an even better view it. And like Socrates said, "Wonder is the beginning of Wisdom "
