10 years old

How would I explain "self reliance" by Emerson  to a 10 year old child. Well I would tell him to himself and to believe in himself. Don't held back by his mind and go with is guts. We all have a special gift to enable us to do great things and one day they shall uncover this by trying out new things. To do what you can do and enjoy it.
